A King After The People's Heart

Nov 9, 2024    Pastor Carl Petrus

This is the story of Saul, Israel’s first king, and Samuel, the prophet who guided him. When the people of Israel wanted a king like the other nations, God gave them Saul—a tall and impressive man who seemed perfect for the job. Saul led Israel to many victories and helped protect his people, but he often chose to please the people instead of following God’s instructions. Because of this, God sent Samuel to tell Saul that his kingdom would not last.

God wanted a different kind of king who would truly love and obey Him. This story shows the importance of trusting and listening to God. It also points to a future king after God’s heart—Jesus, the King of Kings, who would rule forever with love and wisdom.
